THE Livingstone Magistrate Court has convicted and sentenced a 42-year-old Malawian traditional doctor to 12 months simple imprisonment without the option of a fine for unlawful stay. In a statement, Wednesday, Department of Immigration Public Relations Officer Namati Nshinka disclosed that officers from the Livingstone Regional Immigration Office picked up Henry Phiri from Libuyu Police Station on February 13, 2024, where he had been detained following a domestic dispute with his Zambian wife. “The Livingstone Magistrate Court on 9th July, 2024 convicted and sentenced Henry Phiri, a 42-year-old Malawian Traditional Doctor to 12 months simple imprisonment without the option of a fine, for unlawful stay.
