ONE of the most damning findings from the Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency (ZAMMSA) audit is that medical supplies worth $5.2 million, reportedly delivered to health facilities, were never recorded in ZAMMSA’s Warehouse Management System. There was no central tracking, no accountability, and in many cases, no reliable proof that the drugs ever reached their destinations. Another $1.5 million worth of drugs were simply unaccounted for.
