DIRECTOR of Public Prosecutions Gilbert Phiri has issued consent for the prosecution of Socialist Party leader Dr Fred M’membe in a matter in which he is charged with communication of certain information. But Dr M’membe who refused to take plea yesterday, asked Lusaka Magistrate Ireen Wishimanga to refer his case to the High Court, arguing that the subordinate court has no jurisdiction to hear the matter.
