KONKOLA Copper Mines has reached a consent judgement with Konkola Mineral Resources Limited and KCM (SmelterCo) Limited to return 78 companies and 15 environmental licences to the former. The parties have agreed that the transfer of the 78 companies and 15 environmental licences from KCM to the two companies was illegal. This is in a matter where KCM (in provisional liquidation) sued Konkola Mineral Resources Limited and KCM (SmelterCo) Limited in the Lusaka High Court, seeking a declaration that the transfer of the companies and environmental licences to the two companies was illegal and therefore null and void.
