LUSAKA businessman Sedrick Kasanda has sued the state in the High Court for prosecuting him after he reported a suspicious illegal gold transaction at KKIA involving some Congolese nationals, a South African and Egyptian national. Kasanda is demanding an order that the collective conduct of the state constitutes unlawful reprisal against him, and violates the Public Interest Disclosure, which protects whistleblowers. The businessman also wants an order that he is entitled to statutory protection as a whistleblower on account that the disclosure made by him to the state is a protected disclosure pursuant to the Public Interest Disclosure Act No.4 of 2010.
