GOVERNMENT has handed over K2.79 million in Constituency Development Fund (CDF) grants to 85 cooperatives in Chienge District. Government has also commissioned community development projects and distributed empowerment support to improve livelihoods and expand access to public services. Speaking on behalf of Luapula Province Permanent Secretary Prudence Chinama-Kangwa during the handover ceremony, Tuesday, Deputy Permanent Secretary Evans Sikabbubba said the initiatives demonstrated government’s commitment to bringing resources and services closer to the people. Sikabbubba noted that under the leadership of President Hakainde Hichilema, the CDF allocation has increased from K1.6 million in 2021 to K40 million, enabling districts such as Chienge to accelerate infrastructure development and community empowerment.
