Police in Chililabombwe have arrested 31 suspected illegal immigrates.

Copperbelt police commissioner Charity Katanga confirmed this in an interview with News Diggers! yesterday.

Katanga said the 31 suspected illegal immigrates were detained at Chililabombwe police station.

“We have arrested 31 suspected immigrates in Chililabombwe. They are currently in police custody and we will start the process of screening for documentation,” said Katanga.

“They are all males and suspected to be coming from Kenya and Somalia nationals. So our officers in Chililabombwe rounded them up.”

There has been an influx of foreign nationals entering Zambia illegally through the Kasumbalesa and Mokambo borders.
