LEADER of the opposition in Parliament Brian Mundubile says PF smells a rat in the ongoing fertiliser procurement, wondering how government is verifying stocks of those who claim to have supplies before tender processes are concluded. Commenting on Anti-Corruption Commission Director General Gilbert Phiri’s statement that the Commission would participate in the entire fertiliser tendering process in order to prevent impropriety, Mundubile said he hoped the pronouncement wouldn’t be an academic exercise. “We are happy as a party that the ACC has heeded to our call.
