ANTI-Corruption Commission (ACC) Director General Tom Shamakamba says it is challenging for ACC officers to monitor procurement proceedings under CDF committees due to lack of manpower. In August last year, the Commission said it resumed sitting on various committees ranging from procurement, recruitment, monitoring of examinations, among others, in a bid to reduce corruption. In an interview, Shamakamba said local authorities have been advised not to hold committee meetings during the same period, adding that this will allow ACC officers to attend meetings accordingly. “First of all, we do not cover the whole country.
