FORMER Auditor General Dr Dick Sichembe’s lawyer, James Mataliro, has questioned how complex his client’s case is that the ACC has continued to delay taking the matter to court. Mataliro says Dr Sichembe might want to seek employment elsewhere, but having a tag that he is an accused person doesn’t sit well. In March this year, the Anti-Corruption Commission arrested and charged Dr Sichembe for corrupt practices involving over K1 million. The commission said Dr Sichembe, whilst serving in his capacity as Accountant General and subsequently, as Auditor General, received an accumulated sum of K1,160, 639.57 in allowances for fictitious activities.
