ZAMBIA Consumer Association (ZACA) Executive Secretary Juba Sakala says Zesco’s explanation for failure to restore power on time is a lame excuse. On Wednesday, Zesco Managing Director Victor Mapani explained that sometimes, Zesco delayed to restore electricity on time due to unforeseen circumstances such as a tyre puncture. But in an interview, Thursday, Sakala said he expected Zesco to do better. “Those are lame excuses, anyway, I am surprised a big company like Zesco has so many vehicles and if somebody is supposed to be on duty at 08:00 hours, he is supposed to be at the office by 07:45 hours.
