HOME Affairs and Internal Security Minister Jack Mwiimbu has disclosed that the New Mwembeshi Correctional Facility will be commissioned this year. Meanwhile, Zambia Correctional Service Commissioner General Fredrick Chilukutu says the facility will accommodate 1,800 inmates. Speaking shortly after touring the facility, Wednesday, Mwiimbu said the government wanted the facility to be commissioned as soon as possible. “We would like to commission this facility as soon as possible. We have already started fabricating bunk beds, you may not have seen [them], they are already in some holding rooms.
