POLICE in Mazabuka have detained a 19-year-old man for writing a Biology GCE examination on behalf of his friend after receiving a payment of K1,000. In a statement issued yesterday, Southern Province Police Deputy Commanding Officer Moono Namalongo said Lathen Choobe was apprehended after mistakenly submitting the answer sheet along with an NRC bearing the names of Elvis Lwiindi, the student who was supposed to be sitting for the examination. “On July 29, 2025, at 18:50 hours, Mazabuka Police Station received a report of examination malpractice from Mr. Boyd Haluyasa, aged 57, of Nanga Research Center and Headteacher at Nanga Secondary School.
