NATIONAL Action for Quality Education in Zambia (NAQEZ) has expressed disappointment over the 2026 National Budget’s allocation of only 13 percent to the education sector. NAQEZ Executive Director Aaron Chansa says due to the limited funds allocated towards the sector, the country will not see salary scale upgrades for teachers and effective implementation of the new curriculum. During his 2026 National Budget presentation, Friday, Finance and National Planning Minister Dr Situmbeko Musokotwane announced that government would allocate K33 billion to the education sector, representing 13 percent of the national budget.
