The Chinese Embassy in Lusaka says it is saddened by allegations of human trafficking and sex trade involving some of their nationals. The Embassy was responding to correspondence from News Diggers in which the newspaper reported evidence of the human trafficking scheme which has been going on for some time, including testimonies from victims of the sex trade. The Embassy notes that the development is sad and has since pledged to not only investigate the allegations but to also intervene if it is established that some Chinese nationals are really involved in this transnational crime.
