PATRIOTIC Front presidential aspirant Brian Mundubile has condemned the heavy handedness of the police in enforcing the Public Order Act. Speaking in Mpika when he visited the catholic clergy, Honourable Mundubile said although it is understood that the police may have abused their powers in enforcing this law previously, continuing with the wrong cannot be justified. The Mporokoso lawmaker says in its form, the Public Order Act states that: “police are only required to be notified when there is a public gathering and not that citizens should get permission in order to hold meetings”. If there are human beings on earth who have a very short memory, it must be the politicians. And sometimes we wonder if they do listen...
