FINALLY, someone from the former ruling party has acknowledged that PF is not in a position to offer proper checks and balances to the current government because the opposition party is weak. Brenda Nyirenda, the Acting Deputy Secretary General of the Patriotic Front has, however, blamed UPND for her party’s fractured state. Indeed, one would maybe have to go as far back as 1996 to find a ruling party that was as comfortable as UPND is going into next year’s general elections. Madam Nyirenda’s observation is quite obvious and well known to citizens across the country.
