ZESCO has appealed against the Industrial Relations Court’s judgement which ordered the energy company to compensate its former managing director Cyprian Chitundu for wrongful dismissal.

In a judgment delivered last week, High Court judge Martin Musaluke ordered Zesco to pay Chitundu twenty four months salary including allowances he was entitled to as compensatory damages for unfair dismissal.

The grounds of appeal; filed in the Supreme Court today, will be updated soon.
