Wedson Nyirenda has dropped 8 and brought in 13 players for this Saturday 2018 CHAN qualifier away against Swaziland.

The 8 players dropped were part of Zambia’s 2017 Cosafa Cup outing that saw Chipolopolo lose 3-1 to Zimbabwe in the final played in Rustenburg on July 9.

Some of the notable players dropped are defenders Lawrence and Chungu and Webster Mulenga including midfielder Mwila Phiri who all started against Zimbabwe.

Midfielder Mike Katiba, who was the fourth player in that losing starting lineup, but got injured in the 39th minute, has also been dropped.

Replacing them are five players from champions Zanaco and six from Zesco United.

And Nyirenda has also handed Power Dynamos striker Martin Phiri a surprise call-up face Swaziland this weekend.

Meanwhile, 13 survivors from the Cosafa Cup team have remained in South Africa where they await their new call-ups from home.

Zambia will be camped in South Africa until departure for Swaziland this Thursday.
