MINISTRY of Mines and Minerals Development Permanent Secretary Hapenga Kabeta has acknowledged before the Public Accounts Committee that his ministry failed to meet its revenue collection projection by K13 million. And Kabeta says the ministry is in the process of digitising the cadastre system to prevent people from owning more than five licences, disclosing that some mine owners have almost 80 licences.
