UNICEF Zambia’s Country Representative Dr Saja Abdullah has urged the media to prioritise the safety of children as it reports on events leading to the August general elections. Dr Abdullah says children face heightened risks such as recruitment into political violence, exposure to hate speech and psychological trauma from graphic or insensitive reporting during election periods.
