THE UPND adoption process has been marred by confusion, following a number of cases where more than one aspiring candidate presented an adoption certificate for the same parliamentary seat. At Mumbwa Civic Centre, violence erupted after two UPND candidates presented adoption certificates for the Mumbwa Central parliamentary seat, attempting to file their nominations. Gracious Hamatala, one of the adopted UPND candidates, attempted to enter Mumbwa Civic Centre to file his nominations. It is alleged that another candidate, Clarence Chisuku, was already inside the Civic Centre filing his nomination.
