THE Food Reserve Agency (FRA) says it is not buying maize from traders, as the Agency only purchases produce from farmers. Meanwhile, FRA says the congestion being experienced at some depots can be attributed to the failure by farmers to follow the procedure that has been put in place for crop purchase. Some farmers in Kasama were complaining that Kasama Central FRA satellite depot had delayed to purchase their maize, stating that the Agency was giving preferential treatment to maize traders.
