AIRTEL Zambia says mobile money transaction reversals are not automatic to prevent fraud, which is why there’s a requirement to get consent from the recipient party. Asked to address various complaints regarding delayed transaction reversals in a press query, company head of corporate communications Yuyo Kambikambi said reversals were conditional in order to prevent fraud. “There are processes and procedures to be followed which include obtaining consent from the recipient party or an instruction from relevant authorities before any reversal can be done. We hasten to mention that reversals are not automatic but are conditional in order to prevent fraud in this space,” she said.
