GOVERNMENT has proposed to spend K217.1 billion or 26.6 percent of Zambia’s GDP on the national budget in 2025. This is a substantial increase on the K177.9 billion spent on the 2024 national budget. Among the adjustments announced by Finance and National Planning Minister Situmbeko Musokotwane during the national budget presentation yesterday, government will increase the 2025 CDF allocation to K36.1 million per constituency from K30.8 million in 2024. Dr Musokotwane also revealed that government would recruit 2,000 teachers and 2,000 health workers next year.
