THE Economic and Financial Crimes Court, High Court division, has discharged the seizure notices that DEC placed on bank accounts belonging to Lusaka businessman Bwalya Kalandanya, his record label Kalandanya Music Promotions and a company. High Court Judges Edward Musona, Pixie Yangailo and Kenneth Mulife have ordered that Kalandanya and others should be given access to their bank accounts. In this matter, Kalandanya, his label Kalandanya Music Promotions and Nsochita General Contractions and Suppliers Limited appealed against the decision of the Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) to restrict or seize their bank accounts that are held with Stanbic Bank Zambia Limited and Ecobank Zambia Limited.
