LAWYERS representing UPND Secretary General Batuke Imenda have argued before the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court that Patriots for Economic Progress (PeP) leader Sean Tembo’s presence at the bar is illegal. Imenda’s legal team has requested the Court to refer the matter to the Constitutional Court for clarification. In this case, Tembo filed a complaint against UPND Secretary General Batuke Imenda at the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court, accusing him of hate speech. Imenda faces one count of hate speech under Section 65 of the Cyber Security and Cyber Crimes Act No. 2 of 2021 of the Laws of Zambia.
