FIFA President Gianni Infantino has expressed sadness at the passing on of FIFA referee, Leah Namukonda.

Infantino expressed his condolences in a press statement availed to the media through the Football Association of Zambia.

“On behalf of FIFA and the world wide football community, I wish to extend our deepest condolences to you, to the Football Association of Zambia and most importantly, to her family, friends and loved ones. It was with great sadness that I learned of the tragic passing of the FIFA referee Leah Namukonda. We would hope that, in some way, our words of support may help bring a little peace and solace in this time of sadness,” said Infantino.

Meanwhile, FAZ President, Andrew Kamanga has expressed sadness at the passing on of FAZ Class One referee, Carol Chitengi.

“On behalf of the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Executive and the entire football community, I wish to convey my message of goodwill to the Chitengi family on the passing on of Ms Carol Chiengi,” said Kamanga.
