IN a dramatic turn of events, the women’s U20 4×100 relay team was yesterday awarded a silver medal following the disqualification of Nigeria in that category. Zambia on Tuesday won two bronze medals in the men’s and women’s U20 category after struggling in most disciplines. During the medal presentation yesterday, the team of Ruth Mutale, Blessing Miyambo, Kabinga Mpande and Edna Ng’andula were awarded with silver while second place South Africa got fold and fourth placed Zimbabwe received bronze. Nigeria were disqualified on a technical foul while passing the baton. The receiver of the baton raced backwards to collect it against the stipulated regulations.
