MINISTRY of Sports, Youth and Arts Permanent Secretary Kangwa Chileshe has attributed the low numbers of medals collected this year to the reduced investment in sports by government. Between 2022 and 2023 Zambia collected over 250 medals in all competitions annually but the numbers drastically reduced this year with Zambia managing less than 50 medals. Kangwa said government is not disappointed that the number of medals scooped this year reduced compared to the last two years since the UPND came into power.
