THE Lusaka Magistrates’ Court has acquitted G and G Nationwide (Zambia) Limited director Christopher Banda in a matter where he was accused of forgery, uttering false documents, and obtaining pecuniary advantage. In this matter, Banda was accused of forging a Road Development Agency (RDA) nomination letter as well as a National Council for Construction (NCC) certificate and uttering the said documents to China Henan International Corporation (CHICO), thereby obtaining for himself a contract worth US$1,168,052 on the Mansa-Luwingu road. When the case came up for judgment, Tuesday, High Court Judge Lameck Mwale, who sat as Chief Resident Magistrate, acquitted Banda on all the five counts after finding that the prosecution had failed to prove allegations against him beyond reasonable doubt....
