POLICE in Lusaka have recorded a warn and caution statement from former home affairs minister Stephen Kampyongo for the offence of endangering safety, allegedly committed in 2015. And Leader of the opposition in Parliament Brian Mundubile has described the arrest of Kampyongo as political persecution. In a statement, Wednesday, police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said Kampyongo with others allegedly endangered the safety of an aircraft and its passengers on January 2, 2015 at Kalalatekwe School grounds in Shiwang’andu District. “Police have detained and recorded a warn and caution statement from former minister of home affairs honourable Stephen Kampyongo for the offence of Endangering Safety Contrary to Section 8(f) of CAP 445, Safety of Civil Aviation Act of the Laws of Zambia,”...
