PF PRESIDENTIAL hopeful Emmanuel Mwamba has described government’s decision to engage private companies to evaluate and audit domestic arrears as highly suspicious, saying the process was not subjected to public or competitive procurement processes. But ActionAid Zambia has commended government’s decision, saying this was long overdue given the tight fiscal space and unsustainable debt. Government recently announced that it had completed tender processes for engagement of independent consultants for evaluation of the process related to accumulation and audit of public domestic arrears.
