PF presidential aspirant Emmanuel Mwamba says the country has continued to experience power outages because of government’s decision to continue exporting power. In an interview, Mwamba said Zesco should suspend power exportation until March when water levels in the Kariba Dam rise. “They should stop exports during this period until March when the water levels in Kariba go up. This country has sufficient power for itself, the only reason we are going to load shed is because of the exports, nothing else. The Patriotic Front increased generation capacity from 2,000 to 3,456. The national demand at peak time is 2,300. So even if you knock off Kariba, which produces 1,080 megawatts, you will realise that we still have sufficient power...
