THE Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA) says it has noted a reduction in scam messages targeted at consumers since it introduced the *707# short code. And ZICTA has cautioned consumers against sharing personal information on social media, saying scammers have also migrated online. In an interview, Monday, ZICTA Public Relations Officer Hanford Chaaba said nowadays, a week can pass without consumers receiving scam messages. ‘‘From the time we introduced the short code *707#, we have seen some reduction in the number of scam messages that are meant to target our consumers or subscribers.
