POLICE have charged and arrested UPND Mongu Mayor Nyambe Mayumbana and a Ward Councilor for the offence of assault. Police in Mongu recently summoned Mayumbana and Kambule Ward Councilor Jimmy Kaumba for allegedly beating up Imwiko Ward Councilor Jack Mwangala after an argument during a drinking spree. Mayumbana, however, denied engaging in a fight with Mwangala, claiming that he was being fought by people in his party. Kaumba, on the other hand, confirmed slapping Mwangala, saying he was only retaliating after being slapped first.
