POLICE have opened an inquiry file into a matter in which Mongu High Court Judge Wilfred Muma attempted to kill himself by allegedly throwing himself in the Zambezi river. Judge Muma, who is currently facing charges of wilful failure to comply with the law and abuse of authority of office, is said to have been rescued by a fisherman, after earlier being reported missing. Confirming the development in a statement, deputy police public relations officer Danny Mwale said police had initially received a report of a missing person after Judge Muma’s family reported that they had received suicide-like messages from him.
