DEFENCE Minister Ambrose Lufuma says the government has managed to bring mealie meal smuggling under control, although not completely. In an interview, Tuesday, Lufuma said there were still a few cases of smuggling but the situation had been controlled. “We have closed as many outlets as we can and the smuggling has been brought under control, of course not 100 percent. There are small smugglers here and there who escaped the dragnet but otherwise, I think we have done our job and it’s under control. Smuggling comes in because of external environment.
