HEALTH Minister Sylvia Masebo has revealed that her ministry has recorded a confirmed case of cholera in Lusaka’s Kanyama township, while another person is reported to have died of suspected cholera. Addressing the media on the cholera outbreak, Wednesday, Masebo said the confirmed case involved a female aged 21 who presented at Kanyama Hospital on October 14 with acute watery diarrhoea and vomiting. She said rapid response teams were dispatched into the community for contact tracing and were able to identify a community death that is alleged to have been linked to the index case prior to confirmation of the outbreak. “It is my duty to inform you that we have identified a new case of cholera in Lusaka District....
