PETAUKE Central Independent member of parliament Emmanuel Jay Banda’s family has refuted government’s claims that he has no serious visible injuries, insisting that he has injuries from beatings and is even having difficulty moving his back. According to pictures released to the public, some minor-looking bruises were noticed on Banda’s lower back. The family also says Banda has not issued any statement about his abduction, as he has refused to speak to anyone until he is fully recovered. Meanwhile, police have expressed concern over the conduct of Banda’s family, who strongly protested his transfer to Maina Soko Military Hospital yesterday after he was found.
