LAST week, we published a story in which we reported that the President’s Special Assistant for Economic Affairs, Mr Jito Kayumba had made a false declaration as a member of the Airtel Zambia Networks PLC board, by claiming that he also sits on the board of the Central Bank. In that story, we published the contents of the letter from the Bank of Zambia in which Airtel was ordered to correct the false information. We went further to ask Airtel to explain why the Company’s 2020 Annual Report contained this information, and we were informed that this information was published as provided by Mr Kayumba.
