YESTERDAY, under the auspices of the Media Association for Pure Self Regulation (MAPSR), journalists from across the country launched a mechanism that will see them operate under a framework that promises professionalism and ethical reporting. Civil society organisations have also joined hands with the media to support the operationalisation of the pure self-regulation framework. Speaking at the launch, Wednesday, association Chairperson Kennedy Mambwe gave a roadmap towards this achievement, explaining the process that was used to educate journalists and media practitioners on the importance of media regulation and the dangers of statutory regulation.
