PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema yesterday led government officials, stakeholders and cooperating partners in celebrating herd immunity that Zambia has achieved through the vaccination of at least 70 per cent of the eligible population. According to the Ministry of Health statistics, the country has in fact succeeded to vaccinate more than 8.3 million people, representing more than 75 per cent. We are also told that the vaccination centres are still attending to people who have not yet gotten the jab. Speaking at this event, Minister of Health Sylvia Masebo explained that achieving this feat was a difficult undertaking because it required demystifying a lot of myths.
