THE Zambia National Public Health Institute (ZNPHI) says there has been no element of recklessness in the way government has handled the presence of Aflatoxin in maize products like mealie meal and animal feed. And ZNPHI says a fair amount of Aflatoxin is destroyed when it is exposed to heat during cooking. Meanwhile, Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock Director Veterinary Services Dr Charles Maseka says only 99 dogs have died after consuming contaminated animal feed.
