THE call by UPND Lusaka Province Chairperson Obvious Mwaliteta on Chawama residents to cut ties with Edgar Lungu’s family should only be understood in the context of politicking and spite. We say this because the ambiguity in Mr Mwaliteta’s message can easily suggest hatred. In our opinion, even as our leaders challenge each other in their political battles, they should not demonise one another without a basis. In the case of Mr Lungu, it’s unfair to call on Chawama residents, let alone Zambians, to shun the former president and his entire family as if they are lepers.
