THE Zambia Meteorological Department (MET) says there will be widespread rainfall from 14 to 24 January, 2025. MET has advised farmers in areas with good rainfall to diversify crop production by planting early maturing and drought tolerant crops in order to increase resilience. In an Agrometeorological Bulletin dated January 16, 2025, MET advised fishermen to observe the fish ban and avoid fishing at the breeding areas and also advised fish farmers to ensure that fish ponds were weeded to avoid predators. “Soil moisture is sufficient in most parts of Zambia.
