MINISTRY of Local Government and Rural Development Permanent Secretary Nicholas Phiri says the ministry is aware of the challenges in implementing CDF projects, as highlighted by the Auditor General, and has instituted various measures to address them. The Auditor General’s Report on the audit of the Constituency Development Funds (CDF) for the financial year ended December 31, 2023, revealed that there are still challenges in the implementation of CDF projects such as weak monitoring, delayed completion and ineffective loans, among others.
