THE Information Communication and Technology Association of Zambia (ICTAZ) says businesses, especially those that depend on technology requiring internet connection are losing out due to network outages. On Tuesday, ZICTA directed Airtel Networks Zambia to compensate its customers with an estimated total compensation value of K4,000,000 after a Sunday outage which impacted data services in five provinces. In the recent past, netizens have been lamenting network outages but the over three-hour internet blackout on Sunday halted the operations of businesses such as online taxi hailing, internet cafes, and others that rely on internet connectivity to operate.
