LIVINGSTONE Mayor Constance Nalishebo Muleabai, 49, has pleaded not guilty to two counts of corrupt practices involving K180,000 intended for land rates. Muleabai of Nakatindi Compound denied the charges when she appeared in the Livingstone Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday before Lusaka-based Magistrate, Trevor Kasanda. In the first count, particulars of the offence are that Muleabai, on a date unknown but between 1st August 2023 and 30th September 2023, in Livingstone District of Southern Province, Zambia, in her capacity as Mayor of Livingstone City Council, allegedly corruptly solicited K120,000.00 from Mark Gabites, as an inducement to facilitate 100 percent remission of property rates bills at Livingstone City Council, a matter or transaction involving Zamnuka Farming Limited, a private body.
