THE Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) has filed a petition in the Constitutional Court seeking an interim order to restrain Speaker of the National Assembly Nelly Mutti, and all persons acting under her authority, from taking further steps in the legislative process related to Constitution Amendment Bill No. 7 of 2025. This follows Speaker Mutti’s ruling last week that Parliament could resume consideration of Bill 7 if Justice Minister Princess Kasune opted to proceed with it, despite the Constitutional Court’s prior judgement in the Munir Zulu case.
